Rhys Batchelor's model of an A class loco in S. This
is a nice scene on an old Batchelor clan layout.

My big S scale DX 5195 was equipped with fibre optic
lighting. Here is a shot taken against Wellington
harbour. Good idea, but requiring a tad more depth of
field. 1990

In my Dunedin university hostel room in 1989 I
assembled a small S diorama. What a geek.

In the hostel room again in 1988.

Dunedin's Otago Model Engineers layout in 1989 before it aquired
trees. The twin S DXs on the beautiful brass viaduct belong to Ken
Devlin of Dunedin. |
The Hutt Valley layout in 1990 with some of my locos
and wagons.

And again

And again. Here the DBR and two DXs head down the
grade on the branch.

A layout at the Page 90 gathering at Porrirua. This
is a nice model of an old English Electric DF. I'm not
sure who owns this loco. These 1500hp 2-co-co-2 locos
were NZ's first 'mainline' diesel electric power in the
mid fifties. They were not a great success, and the
original order of 31 locos was cut down to just 10 locos
with the balance being made up in 750 hp DG locos.
|
And speaking of which... here are two of the 42 1955
DG locos now. These lasted longer than the DFs, but were
all withdrawn by 1984. 10 recieved new cabs in the years
around 1980 which are the ones i have modelled in S and
NZ120. Not my loco or layout

At the same layout, my familiar trio of NIMT power
head around the curve.
